If you’ve scrolled through Instagram or tuned into E!’s latest shows, chances are you’ve come across Shiva Safai. Known for her effortless beauty and glamorous lifestyle, Shiva is also engaged to Mohammed Hadid—father of Gigi and Bella Hadid—and has been making waves in her own right. Recently, she made her way to Dubai for the launch of Hadid Eyewear, a family-driven brand now available at Harvey Nichols Dubai.
Between the buzz of the launch and enjoying the city’s vibrant energy, Shiva sat down to share insights into her inspirations, style essentials, and why Dubai has quickly become a place close to her heart.
Dubai Through Shiva’s Eyes
“Being in Dubai feels wonderful,” she says with a smile. “The city has such an incredible energy. People here are so warm and welcoming. Yes, it’s a little hot, but honestly, I love it—it just adds to the fun.” For Shiva, Dubai offers a unique balance of modern sophistication and cultural richness, making each visit memorable.
The Story Behind Hadid Eyewear
At the heart of her trip was the unveiling of Hadid Eyewear. The collection, she explains, is deeply personal: “There are seven styles in the line, and each comes in three different shades. Every frame is inspired by someone in the family, reflecting their unique sense of style.”
From sleek unisex frames to a fresh spin on the aviator, the collection captures both contemporary trends and timeless silhouettes. Mohammed Hadid’s signature pair—aptly named The Captain—pays homage to his personal favorites, while Shiva’s own design, The Jet Setter, reflects her love for versatile, classic pieces. “I wanted something timeless, something you could wear anywhere—from a baby shower to a dinner date—and still feel fabulous,” she says.
Beauty, Simplified
Known for her polished look, Shiva insists that her beauty routine is rooted in simplicity. “The one product I never leave the house without is sunscreen—it’s a non-negotiable,” she shares. Lip balm, healthy skin, and well-groomed brows also make her top priorities.
When it comes to must-have products, Shiva doesn’t hesitate: “The Anastasia brow pencil is always in my bag, along with Tom Ford bronzer. Those two are staples for me.” Her approach to beauty reflects her philosophy—enhancing natural features rather than masking them.
As for her glossy, ever-changing hairstyles? “When I’m not styling, I like to let my hair air dry and give it a break. I also use hydrating mask treatments to keep it healthy.”
A Balanced Approach to Fitness
Fitness, for Shiva, is less about strict routines and more about balance. “My brothers have an amazing gym in Los Angeles, and I try to go as much as I can. When I’m home, I usually work out three to four times a week,” she explains.
But with a busy schedule, she admits that flexibility is key. “I really believe in moderation. I love food, so if I’m craving cheesecake, I’ll just have a bite instead of depriving myself. It’s about enjoying life while still taking care of yourself.”
Dubai Favorites and Must-Visit Spots
Beyond work, Shiva carved out time to soak up Dubai’s charm. “I absolutely love the beach here—the water is beautiful, the sand is so white, it’s just perfect,” she says. On a previous trip, she visited the White Mosque, which left a lasting impression: “It’s one of the most beautiful and peaceful places I’ve ever seen.”
There’s still more she hopes to experience, like a desert safari on her next visit. For dining, she has a growing list of favorites: “La Petite Maison and Cipriani are always a good choice. This time, I also tried a place called Maine, and it was incredible—I’ll definitely go back.”
More Than Just Glamour
While it’s easy to associate Shiva with glamour, designer frames, and jet-setting, her perspective is refreshingly down-to-earth. She values timeless fashion, swears by a handful of beauty staples, and embraces balance in every aspect of life.
Her time in Dubai was not just about celebrating the launch of Hadid Eyewear but also about connecting with the city itself—its beaches, cuisine, and welcoming spirit. For Shiva, fashion may be about style, but living well is about finding beauty in balance, whether that’s in a pair of sunglasses, a workout routine, or simply a walk along Dubai’s white sands.
